Chemicals in vapes could be highlight toxic

Addiction Economy Thought for Today - it has always puzzled me and Joe that there was not more medical precaution about vapes given the sensitivity of the lungs and the hundreds of unknown chemicals in vapes. As we highlighted in our vape report:

"The Lancet Commission on Pollution and Health reports that pollution, primarily air pollution, is the largest environmental cause of death in the world today, almost three times more deaths than from AIDS, TB and Malaria combined and 15 times more than from all wars and other forms of violence. Smoking is in fact the second largest cause of preventable death after air pollution.. Smoking and air pollution together are responsible for over 16 million deaths globally per year."

So despite knowing that they allow the proliferation of vape products with some say 10-40,000 different flavours, each of those with many chemicals, almost all untested on lungs. It really is totally mad.

Here some AI has done the work on 182 flavours:

"With so many chemicals used in tens of thousands of different vape products, conducting experiments to test every brand and flavour for toxicity could take decades of research.

"Instead, the study used AI to analyse the chemical composition of 180 vape flavours and simulate how they decompose when heated. The research, published in Scientific Reports, predicted that vapes produce 127 “acutely toxic” chemicals, 153 “health hazards” and 225 “irritants”.

Nearly every flavour put through the AI predictor showed at least one product that was classified as a health hazard, with many predicting several. The toxins were associated with vapes containing no nicotine, as well as those with.

The research team at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dublin, conclude there is a “potential public health threat facing the 4.5 million vapers in the UK” and an urgent need for “enhanced restrictions” on flavours and regulations that are reflective of the health risks of vaping, especially for young people."

That was a known known.

And also what upsets me is all the little animals in the labs at this very minute having to breath in endless disgusting vape juice to see if they die of it or not and at what point. Awful.
