BAT urging government crack down on vapes, why?

Addiction Economy Thought for Today - Aah shame, BAT profits going down because the cost of living crisis means waning sales of cigs and the growth in 'illegal' disposables eroding their own.

"BAT said that consumers turning to illegal disposable vapes was hurting sales of its own vape product, Vuse, and urged the Government to crack down on the market.

I suspect that is is not the 'illegal' disposables that are hurting them so much as the other legal ones which they are late to market with. Because iMiracle (Lost Mary and ElfBar) were even more unethical and predatory even than them with their horrific targeting of children with multi-coloured disposable vapes and marketing on Tik-Tok etc. Even the cig companies didn't dare be so blatant and disgusting. Why they are not being haunted down an penalised I don't know.

So BAT are rolling out its own new single-use vape product, Vuse Go 2.0, this month, "which it expects to help accelerate sales over the second half of the year. " Rejoice BAT shareholders.

This is just a normal annual report, except it's not a normal company and yet it's reported like it is one. Thus normalising mass death, still around 8 million people a year from smoking and a growing and predictable concern about the inhalation of hundreds of un-regulated chemicals in vapes. Quite interesting how unremarkable it seems.

Yet if a car company, or a food company or a digital company were responsible for the mass ill-health and death of their customers then there would be uproar.

Oh wait no. They are and they do kill their customers and no-one does much about that either. The world is mad.
