The Duality of the Addiction Economy

Addiction Economy Thought for Today - for every addiction there is another un-addiction economy waiting to 'help'.

Sometimes this is a life saver, sometimes it really helps get back to a life without the addiction, sometimes it does nothing, sometimes it makes things worse. Sometimes it does one thing to one person and another to another.

I would have taken a weight loss drug like some form of semaglutide like a shot in my younger days, so no criticism from me here. But these don't work for everyone, and some of the unprescribed versions are really harming if not killing people.

Do not buy 'from a friend of a friend' as here on the BBC with disastrous results.

I lost two stone on Weightwatchers online a few years ago with having a nice normal varied diet with the odd treats, including chocolate and wine, which set me up to continue in the same way and keep it off.

Even with the legit Ozempic and Wegovy it seems to be an expensive drug for the rest of your life because it doesn't address the diet and self-image pressures that gets us there in the first place...

...and of course, most importantly, the business models and products of Addiction Economy industries whose foods, or 'industrially designed edible food like substances' are making the problem so much worse.
