Exploring the Impact of Regulating Addictive Design Techniques

Addiction Economy Thought for Today - what effect might regulation of specific addictive product design techniques have?

Building on yesterday's post where we advocate for regulation of the algorithmic design which amplifies hate speech (which has directly led to the current UK riots), I was reminded of this great graphic from the WHO. Here in an article about 'Pre-bunking - inoculating against misinformation".

All it is saying is that a few micro-actions taken have exponential effects. So what will be the micro-actions which result from preventing platforms escalating inflammatory speech in their algorithms?

More effective than this I would imagine.
