Tobacco and Vapes Bill Reintroduced with Health-Focused Recommendations

Addiction Economy Thought for Today - Kings Speech - Tobacco and Vapes bill back on, though no detail. Just for the record here are our recommendations, as well as tax, minimum pricing and disposable ban.

The rest of our brief recommendations focus on curtailing the impact of Addiction Economy industries and their products which is the key to a healthier Britain.   Putting the public’s right to health ahead of companies’ right to make money is essential.

Back to their 'Improve the NHS' mission the problem is not the NHS but the negative impacts of addictive products.  Public interest focused regulation should reduce the power and impacts of companies selling cigarettes, vapes, alcohol, unhealthy and ultra-processed foods, gambling, social media and computer games.

The regulation should focus on curtailing the 5 Drivers of the Addiction Economy - addictive product design, inescapable availability, predatory marketing, corporate disinformation and the undermining of policy action.
