Pondering the usefulness of the Un-addiction Economy! (Copy)

Addiction Economy Thought for Today - Pondering the Un-Addiction Economy and the innovations which have helped me improve my diet and cut down dramatically on the booze.

Merchant Gourmet innovation of vacuum pack lentils transformed my family's health and my approach to cooking. I had pretty much never had a lentil until about 10 years ago (!) and found these, which I tried and soon followed all their other mixed wholegrains, quinoa etc which gave some guts to my cooking and healthy stuff for the fam. I hardly ever use them now, as soon went to cook most of them from scratch, so easy and I get them from the lovely folks at Jarr the vegan shop where you take your own packaging.

My hubby gave up booze earlier this year, (thanks to Allan Carr's EasyWay and the book we brought home when me and Joe went to visit John C. Dicey, a story for another day!) but the transition was effortless, as the book says, but he really likes these low alcohol versions which really helped with the segue and with the social aspects.

I went veggie a few years ago and have to say I love my Beyond Meat Burgers & sausages, they taste great and easier to do when I am cooking meat ones for the family. Some criticise them for being ultra-processed, but I only eat them about once a month, so I am not bothered and the rest of my diet is good.

They aren't a replacement for innovations in the regulatory space, but there is definitely room for great innovations to help us unhook ourselves from our addictions, though beware, some just swap one bad thing for another and slap a health message on.

They aren't the total answer, but they helped nudge me on the way to a more health life, thanks to them for that.
