Enquiry into alcohol advertising as Scotland faces record deaths

Addiction Economy Thought for Today - good article, but same old same old here in Scotland where alcohol deaths rise and even an advertising ban faces an uphill struggle.

Sue Webber, the Conservative spokeswoman on drugs and alcohol says “Do you really believe the right level of response to learning that alcohol deaths are at their highest level in 15 years is to commission a review into adverts?”

Predatory advertising is a very important driver of usage and the third of our Economic Drivers of The Addiction Economy. Joe Woof went to a very interesting meeting of the Peers Group on Gambling Reform on restricting Advertising and Gambling last week where it is crystal clear how essential that measure is there.

Here's our article on the 5 Drivers of the Addiction Economy - Addictive Product Design, Inescapable Availability, Predatory Advertising, Disinformation and Undermining Policy Action - the booze industry has been a master of this for many decades.

Pondering whether it is a deliberate example here from the Tories of 8 & 9 of Grant Ennis 9 Frames of Disinformation - "it's very complex with no clear solution" and "it's multifactorial no one solution works, we need to do everything" which means nothing happens and everything can be questioned to the point of utter confusion. Looks like it to me.
